Chris Urquhart makes stories that are true. Chris’ writing has appeared in VICE, Adbusters, COLORS Magazine, Broken Pencil, Maisonneuve, and Russian Esquire.
Chris is a two-time Canada Council for the Arts Literary Grant recipient (2010, 2013), a former Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) fellow (2010), a Canada Graduate Scholarships Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplement recipient (2011) and an Ontario Graduate Scholar (2016).
Chris’ first non-fiction book, Dirty Kids: Chasing Freedom with America’s Nomads was published with Greystone Books in September, 2017. Chris recently published an excerpt on alternatives to mindful breathing for children with special needs in Dr. Shelley Murphy’s new textbook, Fostering Mindfulness.
